William Steinberg conducts the Pittsburg Symphony Orchestra on this vintage 1960 audiophile recording of Gershwin's "An American in Paris" and "Rhapsody in Blue" with Jesus Sanroma featured at the piano. The remaining 5 tracks feature Gershwin alone at the piano performing four relatively obscure original compositions plus a 13-minute rendition of his masterwork, "Rhapsody in Blue." These latter recordings were culled from the 130 piano rolls Gershwin made between 1916-1927. All selections newly remastered.
