More Info:

Digitally remastered and expanded edition of this 1962 album including 15 bonus tracks. One of Motown's main acts of the 60's, The Isley Brothers (Ronald, Rudolph and O' Kelly) started singing together before they were old enough to go to school. The group developed a unique sound, which blended classic soul, high-spirited R&B and joyful rock & roll tracks that would later influence bands like the Rolling Stones and the O' Jays. It is also worth noting that Jimi Hendrix made his first recordings with the group. This very special collector's edition includes The Isley Brothers' famous full-length second LP, Twist & Shout (1962), which was originally released on the Wand label and recorded by the legendary producer/songwriter Bert Berns. The album's celebrated title track sparked the trio's success. It became an all-time dance favorite, whose influence extended across the Atlantic and caught the ear of the Beatles (who scored another transatlantic hit with the tune). in addition to Twist & Shout, we have included 15 bonus tracks from the same period. These sensational recordings contain some of the best R&B, early soul and rock & roll of the era. HooDoo Records.
