By 1976, Osibisa were internationally recognized pioneers of Afro-rock fusion, blending traditional highlife rhythms with psychedelia, bold horns and disco-era sheen. The title 'Ojah Awake' is commonly translated as a spiritual or cultural awakening. This was the group's second record to appear on the UK Bronze label and features the fan favorites "Dance The Body Music" and "The Coffee Song".
