A Quiet Place is a horror film directed by John Krasinski (The Office, 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi). It follows a young couple (Krasinski & Emily Blunt) and their children trying to survive in a world overrun by mysterious supernatural forces attracted to sound. They avoid every possible noise as to not attract whatever force hunts them, and communicate solely in sign language. As the world around them collapses, the family takes refuge in an abandoned secluded farm, hoping to ride out whatever disaster has befallen humanity in silence. In a film where sound is so key, the importance of the score cannot be overstated. Luckily, the score to A Quiet Place is no slouch. Composed by industry veteran Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, The Hurt Locker, Logan), the music of A Quiet Place is a character itself; a stalking, ever-looming presence that highlights the absence of other noises in the world around the family.
