When Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash came out in '81, The Replacements were booze-pounding hardcore heroes in Minneapolis. By the time Pleased to Meet Me hit the pop charts in '87, they were the power-pop-powered band who'd prove hugely influential on the coming alt-rock boom. In between: 1983's Hootenanny, their 1984 classic Let It Be and their 1985 major-label debut Tim.
