New York Before The War is Jesse Malin’s first studio album in 5 years. Malin has made a record about the “daily battle we have to keep the human spirit alive.” He adds: “I tried to carve out a place where I could once again exist and sat down and wrote the rest of this record.” Early recording sessions began with Don DiLego in rural Virginia and finished at NYC’s Magic Shop and Flux Studios. Co-produced by Malin and Derek Cruz, and engineered and mixed by Brian Thorn (David Bowie, Arcade Fire), ‘New York Before The War’ features a star-studded list of special guests including Peter Buck, Craig Finn, Alejandro Escovedo, Wayne Kramer, and more.
